CBD oil information
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD for short) is the second most commonly found cannabinoid in hemp.
Cannabinoids are a collective name for substances found in hemp.
Our own bodies also produce cannabinoids; we call this the endocannabinoid-system. (endo meaning body’s own)
This system helps several processes in the body, including pain, hunger, and blood pressure.
There are also strong leads that show that it plays an important role with some functions in the brain.
For instance memory, attention span, and impulses.
The endocannabinoid-system works together with your central nervous system and immmune system.
Since CBD enhances functions in the endocannabinoid-system, it is possible that CBD could be used to combat some neurological or immunesystem-related diseases.
You could look at the endocannabinoid-system as one of the main controlpoints of your body. It makes it possible for your metabolism to adapt and react to what is happening around you.
Many of the medical qualities that have been assigned to THC, are actually because of CBD.
CBD is best known for its anti-inflammatory properties. A study has shown that CBD stops the body from making the chemicals that cause inflammation.
Is CBD oil psychoactive?
CBD is not psychoactive because it doesn’t take the same ‘pathways’ in the brain that THC does. These pathways, called CB1 receptors, are located in the brain and are responsible for the effects of THC. CBD works primarily through the CB2 receptors.
CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and central nervous system, and CB2 receptors are found in the immunesystem and a couple of organs.
A 2011 study concluded that CBD “doesn’t interfere with different psychomotor and psychological functions.” They also said that CBD is “well tolerable and safe” even at high doses.
Is CBD oil legal?
Yes! It is legal in both The Netherlands, and most other European countries.
Is CBD oil safe to use?
Our CBD oil is 100% pure and is tested for heavy metals, pesticides and fungicides, and diluted with biological hempseedoil.
We make sure that our oil is always safe for consumption.
It’s also impossible to get addicted to and can freely be used by adults, children, and animals.
Dosage of the oil
The dosage is different for every person. The best advice we can give you is to start with 1 or 2 drops, two to three times daily. Once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and once in the evening for instance. It isn’t neccesary to use this before or after a meal. If you don’t feel like you’ve reached the desired effect after a week or two, you can increase your dosage until the desired effect is reached.
We advice you to put the drops under your tongue, as your body will absorb it faster through the salivary gland.
Best is to keep the drops under your tongue for about a minute, and then not to eat, drink, or talk.
If you have trouble falling asleep, or are restless in bed, you could take 1-2 extra drops half an hour before bed.
Most people will notice the effect fairly quick that way.
For serious issues you can increase your dose to 3 x 5 drops a day.
How long does CBD work?
CBD works between 4-8 hours long.
CBD has a broad medical application
Even though CBD and THC work differently on the body, they seem to share many of the same medical applications.
According to a 2013 study in the “British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology” CBD has the following potential effects:
Medical properties of CBD | Effects |
---|---|
Antiemetic | Reduces nausea and vomiting |
Anticonvulsant | Reduces seizures |
Antipsychotic | Helps with psychotic tendencies |
Anti-inflammatory | Reduces inflammation |
Anti-oxidant | Helps with degenerative diseases |
Anti-tumoral/Anti-cancer | Reduces tumors |
Anxiolytic/Anti-depressant | Helps with fear/depression |
There’s been a worldwide interest for CBD, because more and more people are hearing great things about it.
